Challange Record PRO HCL 23
Record PRO HCL is a good choice for road racing. Even though the advantages of the 320 TPI thread are conspicuous in urban usage too if you are performance-oriented rider. The higher the number of threads per inch (TPI), the thinner each individual thread, making a thinner and lighter casing and a more supple tire. The structure of the tire was designed for maximum performance and energy efficiency combined with durability. Challenge is using an extra layer called Puncture Protection Strip (PPS) in their products, to reduce the risk of punctures. In this specific product there are two of these layers (PPS2).
Handmade clinchers(HCL) are non-vulcanized. It will avoid the heat and pressure process called vulcanization, which most tires undergo in production. It is used to bind the materials but compromises the ride quality when the rubber gets stiffer. Treads are hand-glued onto Challenge Handmade clinchers so the components of the tire are maintain their ideal quality for better riding experience.
